School History

To instill culture and traditions of our society and to provide quality education in English medium, particularly for the children of rural community background, Sri K. Ravindra Shetty, in the name of his mother established Rathna Education Trust to start VidyaRathna English Medium School at Lt. Dr. Balakrishna Mudya’s building at Deralakatte.

Rathna Education Trust Deralakatte was registered on 23-11-1999 under divine directive along with the blessings of Shri Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji Shri Kshetra Vodiyoor. The school was started by Founder, President and Managing Director Sri K. Ravindra Shetty Ulidottu as VidyaRathna Pre-Primary School in Deralakatte on 1-06-1998.

The school has reached a critical milestone when VidyaRathna Higher primary (English medium) school was started on 1-6-2005. It continue to grow the school to cater the starting batch of students towards higher primary education. The school completed providing full length of school education by launching VidyaRathna English Medium High School on 1-6-2007.

The first batch of students passed SSLC matriculation in 2007 with 14 students taking part in examination. The school has set multiple benchmarks in academic performance over the years and achieved 100% results in 2012-13 and 2013-14 SSLC examination.

VidyaRathna English Medium School is committed to imparting knowledge and preparing students to be leaders in society by extending opportunities in educational, cultural, extracurricular and social service activities. Our value based system of education is focused on empowering children to learn the art of living and leading society in addition to excellence in education.
