Director's Welcome

It is great privilege and honor to introduce VidyaRathna English Medium School. The school was started as VidyaRathna Primary School in Deralakatte on 1 June, 1998 under the leadership of Rathna Education Trust(R) in Deralakatte. Our educational institution is focused on providing quality education and preparing the pupils to lead in their life and society.

Even though our school is based in English as medium of instruction, we are striving to upheld the Indian culture by promoting Indian classical dance ‘Bharata Natyam’, Yakshagana, folklore culture apart from karate, yoga, visual arts and computer education. To instill discipline and leadership qualities, we have introduced Scouts & Guides, Eco club, Science club, Literary club, Cultural club in our school. Through active participation, they have garnered prizes and popularity in various activities and events. In addition over the years, they have garnered various prizes at cluster, hobali and taluk level ‘Prathibha Karanji’ and sports competitions.

In 2009-10, VidyaRathna Educational Institution completed decennial celebration under the leadership and presence of Karnataka Government Home Minister, Dakshina Kannada District Minister-in-Charge, regional members of Parliaments and esteemed guests among others and was inaugurated with Sri Kshetra Odiyoor Shree Gurudevanda Swamiji’s blessings. Further, VidyaRathna Educational Institution honors individuals with dedication and excellence in Educational field with ‘VidyaRathna Award’ during its annual celebration.

In addition, VidyaRathna Education Institution is committed to provide a platform for excellence in societal and community service activities benefitting local population. The school has provided platform for Rotary Club Deralakatte and conducted programs providing free solar light for the financial underprivileged, free eye testing and eye care sessions, Agri-informational events, book distribution for the underprivileged children.

As VidyaRathna Educational Institution continued to play larger role in contributing to society and lead students towards a brighter future. We are dedicated through our teachers, staff and educational institution as a whole for prosperity and success in serving the children and society.
